Use Planning to manage show identities and their individual broadcasts. Calendar times follow the station timezone.
Programs, schedules, and broadcasts
Term | Meaning | RIVI FM example |
Program | A reusable show identity, team, and preparation template | Breakfast on RIVI |
Recurring schedule | A rule that creates broadcasts on selected dates and weekdays | Weekdays at 07:00 for two hours |
Broadcast | One airing on a particular date | Tuesday's Breakfast on RIVI |
Internal team assignments give staff access to preparation. Published presenter profiles describe the people shown on listener websites and apps. Check both when setting up a program.
Create and schedule a program
Open Planning and choose New program.
Enter the program title, internal team, and public profiles where available.
Set its preparation template and save.
Choose New recurrence, enter the dates, weekdays, local start time, and duration.
Choose Preview effects and inspect created, changed, canceled, or preserved broadcasts, overlap warnings, and skipped dates.
Choose Apply preview when the changes are correct.
Recurring rules end within 366 days. A preview expires within five minutes and can become invalid if someone else changes the schedule. Preview again after a conflict.
Planning management permission is required for programs and recurring rules. Broadcast editing permission can allow changes to assigned broadcasts without granting control over unrelated programs or teams.
Change one broadcast
Open the occurrence from the calendar. Change its date, start time, title, or other available fields, then preview and apply the effects. Move… and dragging in month view use this same preview process.
An individual override keeps the recurring rule intact. Canceling an occurrence requires a public cancellation reason. Past starts, live or completed broadcasts, and initialized preparation are preserved when recurring rules change.
Prepare the show
Use Prepare on a broadcast to open Show Prep. Initializing preparation copies the program template into that broadcast's workspace. Opening it again does not reset completed work.
Program template changes do not overwrite scripts in an already initialized broadcast.
Availability and personal calendars
Record Presenter unavailability so planners can see conflicts. Availability warnings help planners make assignments; they do not automatically block a schedule. Use Find substitute where available.
A Personal calendar feed lets you subscribe from a calendar app. Copy the subscription link when it is created and keep it private. Revoke the feed to invalidate the URL.
Timezones and clock changes
Set the station timezone before scheduling. Daylight saving gaps can be skipped or rejected; repeated local times require an earlier, later, or reject choice. Preview these dates carefully: wall-clock duration and elapsed time can differ.
Changing the station default preserves existing rules and resolved broadcasts. Edit a future rule explicitly if it should adopt the new timezone.
Listener schedule
Listener delivery uses public schedule data and published profiles. Internal assignments and preparation details remain in the workspace. An unpublished profile will not become public merely because you linked it to a program.
